Cyber 12 is a nationally selected student cohort from the CyberEd in a Box program, sponsored by the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity. Students operate as a collaborative cybersecurity consulting team dedicated to advancing digital safety, resilience, and innovation. The team is comprised of 12 emerging professionals who bring a balance of technical skill, policy insight, leadership, and human-centered strategy to every engagement.
Over an immersive eight-month experience, Cyber 12 simulates a professional cybersecurity consulting group—engaging in policy writing, auditing, risk management, business continuity/disaster recovery, incident response, and communication with stakeholders. Our work is rooted in real-world simulations, hands-on projects, and a commitment to forensic readiness, risk reduction, and transparent communication.
